Bilingual note, English follows
Quelle honte...
You surely read it previously but as the news was making noise during the Christmas break whilst I was with a good 40C fever in bed (brilliant hols hey!), I did not have had the time yet to comment personally on it. So yes, this note is related to yet another major favor that Chirac did to his, and consequently my, country. As Ron Howard (btw, the Richie of "Happy Days") and Brian Glazer were auditioning for the lead feminine role, they received a call from the Elysée (Presidential residence) asking them to pop by. Whilst Howard and Glazer thought it would just be a quick coffee and picture, it was no more a tentative by Chirac to "suggest" a good friend of his daughter and wondered aloud to bump up the pay check of Jean Reno who plays the local cop role... Amazing. This poor Chirac is living in his own very bubble "Elyseo-Parisienne" where every body that has some sort of power (political, economic, etc...) his clinging together helping each other. Who said that France was not a meritocratie...And his daughter who obviously is at the origine of this brilliant initiative is no more than his PR adviser. Very good initiative which hit bull's eye in the blogosphere and on the other side of the Atlantique. I could not have thought of a better one to insure good coverage, at least from a volume perspective, not sure from a qualitative perspective for this poor Chirac's image (no affection here!) and France's consequently... Chirac, dinosaure of the French politics, who was already member of the French cabinet during Nixon's Watergate. What a disgrace...
